A Baptism for My Birthday

Hola! This was a great finish up to a great companionship and another great transfer! I killed Elder Schulaks! This morning Elder Schulaks wanted to get Empanadas for the last time, so we went and got 40 of them. I think I ate about 20 out of the 4 missionaries in our apartment. He just left two hours ago and now is off to Utah!

My new companion will be awesome, and it is Elder Cruz from Honduras.  He has been out six months and has 10 in his family, seven older sisters then him! This will be another great transfer!

This last week has been a hard week with all the intercambios (Exchanges) but we have been able to accomplish a lot.

Greatest Birthday present in the mission...We got a baptism for the last week of the transfer! I baptized Sencion Ricarlo Garcia on Saturday Nov. 9th. He is an older gentleman and has a bad back.

Before the baptism Ricarlo and I talked about baptizing him face first to help his back and help me to be able to lift him up out of the water. Right before the baptism the witnesses kept telling me to step back, but I knew what I was doing, but the witnesses did not know the plan. Ricarlo got baptized face forward...Elder Hadley made it as comfortable as possible... He did it:). It was quite interesting… but was a great experience for the both us.

Second Greatest Gift was my family. They sent me an easy to make chocolate cake with sprinkles and the number “19”, pictures of family and friends and some letters! Love you guys!

Birthdays in the mission are different but I am happy to have my 19th birthday in the mission and in the middle of Buenos Aires! Love you all and hope you guys have a wonderful week!

Pictures from Last Week when we moved 2 more missionaries into our apartment Episode #1 of Hoarders! 😬

4 Beds for 4 Elders. We sleep feet to feet.

Elder Hadley and Elder Harper

The beds are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. The stairs are a little scary and dangerous in the dark if you have to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom!

Don't worry we have done some rearranging when we realized this was not a good layout.

Welcome to our Casa Elder Harper!

Heading to the font with Ricarlo for his unique Baptism.

I bought a Birthday Present for myself
40 Alfejores for $3.00!
They are the best!

Hermana Fernandez, a member in our ward, made me a Birthday Asado after church on Sunday!

Loved my Birthday Asado! In Argentina a salad is just tomatoes, no lettuce.

Elder Harper making my Birthday Cake!

19 years old in 2019!
I always know how old I am each year! JAJA

They sang Happy Birthday in Castellano

Gracias Mama!

Cake time!

It is time for him to go home now

But first we need to eat 40 Empanadas!!!

Well Done Elder Schulaks!!!
