Same Day Wedding and Baptism

¡Hola! Buenos Aires is having one of their hottest weeks before the temperature starts to drop so ya, not too fun, but it is just for a little bit. We had a very busy week with Zone Conference, a Marriage, and a Baptism.

At the beginning of the week, I got a little sick (not the first time) with eating undercooked meat, but it passed after a day and I got right back to work.

On Thursday we had an awesome Zone Conference to learn a little bit more on details and answers to questions that some friends of the Church might have for us. One of them is "Why does the church have the name Jesus Christ in it and where can we find evidence that this is the only and true church on earth?"

It is quite interesting and in fact we are the only "big" church with His full and complete name. I learned a lot at Zone Conference, had hamburgers, and was able to catch up with some of the old Elders.

Friday was a fun day in Ciudad Evita. In the morning at 11:00 we went to Town Hall where our friend Segundo (Age 65) finally got married to his wife, Betty (Age 75). They are so awesome! After the marriage we left and had lunch with some members then started to fill the font for Segundo's Baptism.

After his baptism they had a little party to celebrate the wedding and the baptism with family and ward members with a lot of sandwiches, pizzas, and empanadas. We got special permission to stay out a little later with them from the President! Jaja This last week was way fun and we are very happy how everything went down.

To end on a spiritual note, I'd like to share another scripture that I encountered in my Personal Studies this last week. In Alma 38:9 It talks about the only way we can return to God and experience true happiness.

“And now, my son, I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can be saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the light of the world. Behold he is the word of truth and righteousness.”

I love how in most chapters in The Book of Mormon at the end of the chapter it puts a "goal" or the "cause and effect" scenario that we can apply to our own lives.

I'd like to challenge you all to open your scriptures, study, and apply what you find to your lives. As a representative of Him, I promise you will find what you are looking for. Maybe it's how to get back on the straight and narrow path? Or how can I be happier? Just do it, I know you all are busy, but when we put the Lord first, he can do a 180 on your life for the good!

Love you all tons, know you all are in my prayers. Make a Bracket for March Madness for me with Duke winning it all!

Les amo mucho,
