Getting Shipped Out

¡Hola! This will be a Shorter Email because I only have a few minutes since it is Transfer day and I'm getting shipped out of Ezeiza to Ciudad Evita!

This last week we worked hard and did a lot of service. We worked with the Familia Galliano because their wall fell over, so we cleaned up all the bricks and helped them out with repairing a new one.

We also helped an old lady in our ward and shoveled up more bricks and more rocks. jaja My hands were a little ripped up after that project!

We had a dinner with The Familia Palacios and they have geese walking around their house all the time. jaja

With me leaving for Ciudad Evita I had to say goodbye to Familia Galliano and some other wonderful members. The members here in Ezeiza has been amazing since I arrived the first of October. The Familia Galliano was a great family that I was able to celebrate my Birthday, Christmas and New Year’s with them. They are very supportive and take great care of the missionaries here!

I know this next area is gonna be great and I am looking forward to getting to work!

To end on a spiritual note, I want you all to look at what you are doing to show love to our Lord. There are a lot of ways we can show our Love and Faith in the Lord. Find the small and simple things cause in the eyes of the Lord it is big and matters a lot. God Blesses his Children through us, Remember that! Love you all and keep a prayer in your heart for all those who need a special blessing of comfort at this time!

Mom Note: Parker told us that he is skinny and we had noticed this in his pictures but he brought it up.
He told us that he has lost 30 pounds in the last 7 months! He said it is hard for him to keep the weight on because he is walking to Centerville and back (10-13 miles) everyday in the heat and humidity and they are sweating all the time.
They eat breakfast once in a while, lunch is the main meal and they eat dinner (Asado/BBQ) on Saturdays.
Parker is VERY cautious about what he eats because he does not want to get sick and go to the hospital! ๐Ÿ˜ท And if you know Parker he does not like hospitals!
He promised me he would eat more in his new area so he does not blow away! Never thought I would have to tell Parker to eat more!!!๐Ÿ˜‚

The death of Kobe Bryant has been affecting the people of Argentina and also many missionaries.

Goodbye dinner with the Galliano Familia!
Yes, that is a hard boiled egg on the pizza!
It is a thing they do here in Argentina, they smash it up and spread it all over the pizza before they serve it!

Choripan y Chimichurri Baby

¡Hola! How we all doing this beautiful day? Good I hope! Here in Argentina all is well, a liter of milk costs 50 pesos, it is a good day when it cost less than 65 pesos. Jaja Ezeiza is great but I think this is my last transfer here. I had a good run here and we will see where President wants me next week.

Elder Harper did end up being transferred the next day last week. He is a great missionary and I will miss him! I am currently in a trio with Elder Cruz (Honduras) and Elder Mendoza (Chile) for now.

This last week we did not have any baptisms, but we will see how the mission work goes this next week.

I decided to cook my own Asado (BBQ) this last week before interviews with the Elders of Las Flores. The Elders from Las Flores live south out in the country of our mission boundaries, so they come up to stay with us before interviews with the President. I only cooked up some chorizos (sausages) because we need to eat all week, not just one meal a week (It is expensive) Jaja So Choripan y chimichurri baby! (Sausage Sandwiches)

Now a Quick thought I recently have had this past week. The power that the scriptures have is absolutely amazing. In Gospel Doctrine yesterday we talked about how the Iron Rod is The Gospel in our lives, the Word of God, the scriptures.

In Jacob 4:11-12 it talks about how we can gain a perfect knowledge of our Savior and his atonement through the scriptures. I think that is amazing that I can learn more and more about Him and His experience through the scriptures.

The mission I can see every day is helping me become more and more like Him in ways I never expected. I want to invite you all to pray before your scripture study and ask how and what you study can help you day to day to become more like our Savior.

I love you all and appreciate all the support I am receiving from home. Trials are hard but with the Savior it is only temporary Trials.

The Mission is Working My Muscles & 6 Months Down

¡Hola! ¿Como estรกn? This was a great week here in Ezeiza and we have 2 Baptisms coming up and I hit my 6 month mark this last Thursday!

We ate a full and did a couple of Intercambios in Spegazzini and a Tormenta Blanca (All missionaries in the zone go and contact like crazy in a couple of hours) in Caรฑuelas with the Hermanas.

I did an Intercambio with Elder Harper y Elder Remieraz and just working like none other. Intercambios are exchanges where you can learn for a day what you are freakin good at and what you are freakin bad at and need to work on.

The Mission is working the muscles that are weak and keeping up the strong ones too. We can never be perfect alone... We can be perfect through him. Matt 5:48 Look it up!

Well Elder Harper is getting shipped out of Ezeiza for an Emergency Transfer to his second area. 6 months in Ezeiza and boy he is ready jaja. That missionary... he will do great Jaja.

Mom Note: Elder Harper said goodbye to the members, and they stayed up very late helping him pack and saying their goodbyes and when they got to the internet cafรฉ they found out he was staying and the Emergency Transfer was canceled. ๐Ÿ˜‚

To end on a spiritual note, I'd like to share with you a chapter out of my Book of Mormon Studying that really stands out to me.

In 3 Nephi Chapter 13 Jesus explains how to pray and the importance of it. When you get a moment to read that chapter think about your prayers right now, are you asking for things you want or need? Or are you just repeating words to just pray to be praying and not talking with your Heavenly Father? The Small Details matter, A prayer is a small detail compared with life, but it is a way we show our Faith and Love for him. He listens and responds to our prayers.

I feel your prayers here in Argentina, I love you guys and appreciate everything. Enjoy the Cold because it is freakin hot here in Buenos Aires Sur!

My Full Year in the Mission

¡Hola! Happy New Year’s peeps and Welcome to 2020! I've now started my full year in the mission and boy I am excited to get working hard. The Buenos Aires South Mission Baptized over 1150 people in 2019. We are the most progressed mission in the world. We not only doubled but tripled our baptisms this last year!

Our Goal this next year we are guessing will be around 1500 Baptisms in 2020, Which requires a lot from every missionary. I'm Ready! Jaja

This last week we worked hard finding a lot of "Nuevos" New friends to teach and share the Gospel with. Elder Cruz and I are working farther into our area and we are finding a lot more success there. The hard part is and will always be getting them to church. You have to get on a bus then walk to the church house. Little Tricky but with the Lord’s help in work it is very possible!

This next week we are going to try new things and we are always trying new ways to find more people!

The missionaries here are now not allowed to drink Manaos, Juice, or Water from people. Those are the only beverages except beer and wine that are in this country. We are figuring things out because all of those contain “Agua" Water that is bad and makes your tummy feel a little mad. Jaja Don't drink the water!!!  I'm ok just watching everything that goes into my mouth.

Now to end on a good and spiritually healthy note, I'd like to share a Scripture with you all I read in my personal Study this last week.

In Alma 37:37 it talks about prayer and the importance to keep the Lord involved. I'm trying to see where I can apply this in my life this next year. Keeping the Lord in the work is the most important thing we could be doing; a particle of dust doesn't even move without him. I challenge you all to think about how you will involve the Lord in your life in 2020!

Love you all and hope you guys are getting ready for our April Conference! #Restoration
